一、Celtic Folk凯尔特民谣：

    凯尔特民谣是英格兰民谣和凯尔特音乐的一种混合体。基于传统英格兰音乐和凯尔特音乐的结构，而反映出当今民谣和当代歌手或作曲家的思想和艺术性。

二、Celtic New Age新世纪凯尔特：

  由凯尔特主题旋律、器乐和歌曲，加上新世纪的产物和情感而产生了新世纪凯尔特音乐。Clannad 和 Enya 是这一流派的典型代表，可是他们并不是仅拘泥这种音乐的艺术家。这种梦幻式的充满灵气的音乐在80年代末是由Enya的”Watermark“专辑而走向主流的，在90年代逐渐繁盛起来。

三、Traditional Celtic传统的凯尔特音乐：

五、Celtic Gospel凯尔特福音:

六、Celtic Rock摇滚凯尔特：

    象来自纽约的具有朋克和管弦风格的Pogues乐队一样，还有带点凯尔特风格受到爱尔兰音乐影响的来自Cranberries的Black 47乐队，从事摇滚凯尔特的艺术家把传统的爱尔兰器乐和摇滚节奏连接起来而创作出几近疯狂和热情、悲伤和浪漫的曲子。摇滚凯尔特音乐通常清晰的表现出爱尔兰酒吧音乐的特色，但是它也带有一点流行音乐的性质，那是一种采秸于R&B和选择性摇滚的音乐。

七、Celtic Pop流行凯尔特音乐：

  流行凯尔特音乐相对于传统凯尔特音乐来说在很多方面都是差不多的，美国和英格兰的流行民谣都有自己的特点－－当旋律（可能是乐器的旋律）确实没有被影响的情况下，在流行民谣的核心部分，音乐是遵循流行原则的，而又不是完全脱离传统形式的。这种风格主要形成于80年代，在70年代期间，为了使传统爱尔兰民谣能够复兴，一直以来从事浓重民谣味道的艺术家们开始逐渐的把摇滚和流行元素混入到原始音乐中（虽然象Pogues一些主要艺术家并不这么认为）。正当新世纪爱好者们开始发现这种受到一定限制的、有灵气又有飘逸感觉的凯而特音乐时，流行凯尔特音乐逐步走向主流，吸收了综合性加上基于听觉的标准器乐（但是凯尔特混音艺术家们确不这么认为）。Capercaillie 和 Clannad是属于这种流派、演艺这种风格的主要乐队。
