During 2004 I was able to experience for the first time several Jazz artists
like Voodoo Village, Bass X, Double Play and of course Eric Darius to name a
few. After listening to Eric's previous project  (Night on the Town)  I said
this guy has potential. Now after hearing this effort, I say Eric Darius has
Talent (with a capital `T')! He is a gifted songwriter and musically he reminds
me of a young Dave McMurray, Paul Taylor and Gerald Albright combined. On this
project he surrounds himself with great Talent featuring Brian Culbertson, Paul
Brown and fellow Saxophonist Euge Groove. This CD Smokes with Eric's version of
the Jeff Lorber tunes 'Groove On' and 'Steppin Out'. His rendition of Alicia
Keys 'If I Ain't Got You' is quite mellow and impressive. 'Cant Let Go' and
'Slick' had the JazzeOne rocking. If you have never heard of Eric Darius, you
will with this outstanding CD as he is 'Just Getting Started' and is far from
finished. This CD is a Jazz lovers dream come true and I am proud to be the
first to review it.
