這是百老匯舞台劇：A little night music（今晚來點音樂）其中的一首歌曲。劇情是說：一個在舞臺上顛倒眾生的紅伶，眼看昔日被她玩弄於股掌間的男士們，個個均安身成家，好面子的她不信自己魅力已失，遂邀請眾伉儷到她的鄉間別墅度假，企圖挽回昔日戀情。但是，當最後一位男士也拒絕了她，她終於得面對自己風華不再的殘酷事實，而落寞的唱出這首歌

茱蒂柯琳絲於70年初慧眼翻唱了這首曲子，翌年並獲得葛萊美獎年度最佳歌曲。第一次聽到這首歌，雖不懂在唱什麼，歌聲中所流露出淡淡的哀愁，卻讓人心盪神馳。直到現在........
