凯蒂 麦拉(Katie Melua)

Katie Melua生于1984年的东欧前格鲁吉亚苏维埃社会主义共和国，成长于俄罗斯及英国。

她于2003年出道。2006年，凯特•玛露成为英国最畅销的女艺人及欧洲最畅销的欧洲女艺人。

2003年11月，19岁的凯特•玛露发行她的首张专辑《停止飘泊》，登上英国专辑榜冠军，在前五个月卖出了一百八十万张。第二张专辑《真情剪影》在2005年9月发行，获得四白金认证。第三张专辑《真情写真》在2007年10月发行，是她与Mike Batt合作的最后一张作品。 根据2008年英国周日泰晤士报富豪榜，凯特•玛露的财产达一千八百万英镑，成为30岁以下身价第七高的音乐家。根据2009年报道，她因全球经济衰退损失了半数财产。

2003年底，首支单曲“The Closest Thing To Crazy”发行便强登英国金榜Top 10。不久，广获好评的首张专辑一举挤下英伦人气天后Dido、Norah Jones，荣获6周英国金榜后座，成为英国2004开春迄今最畅销专辑。声线兼备蓝调、民谣、爵士味道的Katie Melua，常被乐评拿来与诺拉•琼丝相提并论。但她那相较甜美清澈的年轻嗓音，让人遥想起已逝的跨界流行爵士美声Eva Cassidy。她也自承在音乐方面受到Queen、Joni Mitchell、Bob Dylan和印度音乐及爱尔兰民谣等多类乐风的影响。

为了配合Katie Melua的10月和11月在法国和英国的巡演，Dramatico公司推出了这张《The Katie Melua Collection》Katie Melua的收藏辑。两张光盘是对Katie Melua二十四年生命旅程的总结，包含18首歌曲，包括'The Closest Thing To Crazy'，Nine Million Bicycles'，首选二重唱'What A Wonderful World' (和Eva Cassidy)，三首新歌，还有今年早些时候在荷兰鹿特丹90分钟的The Arena Tour 2008演唱会现场DVD和和筹备今年巡演的幕后制作花絮。

还有Katie Melua为电影《波特小姐（Miss Potter）》（片中一场浪漫的求婚戏，男主角送女主角一个音乐盒，男主角还清唱了這首曲子）写的感人情歌‘When You Taught Me How To Dance’，Katie Melua之前三张专辑（‘Call Off The Search’，‘Piece By Piece’ and ‘Pictures’）精选曲目也都在其中。三首新歌：Toy Collection 是为电影胆小鬼‘Faintheart’ 所写的歌，在她的My Space上可以看到这个MV。另外就是Katie Melua和Mike共同编写的舒缓的抒情蓝调‘Somewhere In The Same Hotel’，节奏欢快充满加勒比风格的节奏蓝调‘Two Bare Feet’。
