(Billy Joel)比利·喬1949年5月9日出生於紐約的希克斯維爾。4歲就開始接受鋼琴訓練，雖然7歲時父親的棄家，使他和母親二人陷於困境，但比利·喬從未放棄對音樂的濃厚興趣。1968年比利·喬就以一名自彈自唱的民謠歌手形象出現在歌壇上，多年不得志的日子並沒有使比利·喬失掉音樂創作的信心，反而使他愈挫愈勇，堅守自己獨樹一幟的創作風格，終於在Bee　Gees把迪斯科帶向瘋狂的時期，比利·喬竟以一張名為《The　Stranger》的專輯異軍突起，並不受當時潮流的影響而獲得了空前的成功。

　　緊接著葛萊美獎中比利·喬又以一張《52nd　Street》的優異表現獲得了兩個大獎，專輯打頭陣推出的一首單曲《My　Life》，告訴人們，不要怕別人對你的看法，應履行你自己的人生。隨後他再接再厲推出了一張復古式的搖滾大作《An　Lunoceent　Man》，歌迷為之瘋狂。比利·喬可以說是上世紀五六十年代搖滾樂所繁衍的後代，加之他堅持自己的風格而不隨波逐流，並保持虛心的態度，所以在歌壇不斷取勝。
