“        Kaoma was a pop group made up in France of former members of the band Touré Kunda: Chyco Dru (bassist), Jacky Arconte (guitarist), Jean-Claude Bonaventure (producer and keyboardist), Michel Abihssira (drums and percussion), Fania (vocals), and Braz Loalwa (lead singer), Chico and Roberta (dancers). Chyco Dru is from Martinique, Jacky Arconte from Guadeloupe, and Loalwa Braz from Brazil.In 1989, they had a major chart-topping hit with their dance music single "Lambada", which was in fact a song called "Chorando Se Foi" composed by the Bolivian group "Los Kjarkas". Given the clear act of plagiarism committed by Kaoma, Los Kjarkas successfully sued.[citation needed] "Dançando Lambada" and "Mélodie d'amour" were the next two singles and were also hit singles, although they failed to earn the same success than "Lambada".        ”

Lambada是发源于巴西东北部巴依亚省的一种拉丁舞，是一种迪斯科舞。

Lambada舞蹈音乐欢快强烈，场面热情奔放。现场的音乐和情感，直接而粗犷，肢体语言丰富。进行Lambada舞蹈时，女舞者只穿短截比基尼式迷你裙，男舞者或穿背心或穿花衬衫，一般是热带海滩常见的装扮，使Lambada舞显得比较热辣性感。因此巴西曾经一度禁止在公众场合表演Lambada舞。

进入90年代，Lambada舞在国际间极为流行，迅速席卷全球。2003年巴西国家综艺歌舞团到中国巡演，也表演了Lambada舞。

关于舞曲：大家耳熟能详的那首Kaoma演唱的歌曲Lambada（兰巴达）——LLORANDO SE FUE（哭泣的离开者）已成为Lambada舞曲的代表曲目。该曲源于玻利维亚的印加音乐，本来是很忧伤的曲子，后来被翻译成葡萄牙文并加以改编，加上了强烈的节奏和巴西融合爵士的元素，使它失去了它原有的印加风貌，变成欢快而富于节奏感。
