Bernard l’Hoir Ensemble is formed by musicians coming from all over the world: Barry Mc Neese (USA) on the bass, Juan Carlos Mellado (Spain) on the guitars, Philippe Mobers (Belgium) on percussions and drums, Laurence Vautrin (France) on cello and Laurence Waters singing.
The album was recorded and mixed by Flavio Marredda (Italia) in Reykjavik (Iceland).
ICELAND is pretty different from previous albums. The female singer and the musicians are still the same on the new album but Bernard L’Hoir wanted to go further with them in the field of pop music by keeping an allusion to the sound of the sixties and seventies.
The song “nature’s way” is half way between pop and jazz with a clin d’oeil to the American musical comedy. “Wonder” is the biggest allusion to the sixties with a sort of “homage” to Georges Martin, the most famous producer of the sixties. Envol and Bowling green complete the 4 songs included in this new album
The other tracks on the project are 8 instrumental pieces.
The English lyrics have been written by the American poet and musician, Barry Mc Neese.
You will notice that one of the songs is sung in Spanish (Sola) and another one in French (Envol).
The Spanish lyrics have been written by the Spanish guitarist Juan Carlos Mellado and Envol by the French singer Laurence Waters.
