The Ting Tings乐队由鼓手Jules De Martino和吉他手/主唱Katie White组成

    在一次偶然的创作中诞生的作品“Great DJ”成为了The Ting Tings第一首广受欢迎的作品。后来The Ting Tings将自己的另一首作品“That's Not My Name”和“Great DJ”收录在一起发行了乐队的第一张单曲〈Great DJ〉，由于经费的紧张，这张单曲只印制了500张，结果首批发行很快就销售一空，并且这张单曲在英国的限量发行版也登上了NME（英国著名音乐杂志）的“本周单曲”；而The Ting Tings挂在Myspace上的作品也得到了广泛的关注，被MySpace注册成员浏览超过170万次。

    在独立音乐界的成功使The Ting Tings开始得到主流音乐界的注目：他们被BBC评为 “2008年十大必看”榜单中的第三名，在BBC一年一度的音乐调查“2008的声音”中这样评论到：“他们现在已经成为了独立音乐团体中最可靠和最受赞誉的一队。”

    之后他们又得到SONY BMG旗下Columbia唱片的赏识，并与其签约。随后The Ting Tings带着他们的音乐开始登陆美国，沿着美国的海岸开始一系列的巡演；之后乐队的第一张大碟《We Started Nothing》也随即诞生。

    音乐上的成功也使The Ting Tings得到一些知名品牌的青睐：在纽约时尚周乐队演出过程中，Betsey Johnson和 Dolce & Gabbana等品牌都使用乐队的“That's Not My Name”作为走秀的背景音乐；而2008年4月，苹果也在iPod + iTunes的广告中使用了The Ting Tings乐队的“Shut Up and Let Me Go”。这个广告可以在电视及apple的官网中看到

    “我们从来没有想过这些事情的发生，”乐队成员Katie说，“我想这正是这些事情发生的原因。因为我们很放松，我们只为自己做音乐，不为其他什么人。我们只写我们喜欢的歌。一切进展得都很顺利，我不知道这对我们意味着什么。我们只是随风而行。我们并没有什么事先的准备，我们也从来没有坐下来研究什么战斗计划，我们就走到了现在。”
