    Dixie Chicks的新专辑『Taking The Long Way』（有志者竟成）终于上市了，用万众期待来形容这张专辑一点也不为过，专辑还没上市，众多Dixie Chicks的歌迷们就早早地把Aamzon TOP Sellers的头把交椅给挤得水泄不通，果然，专辑上市第一周就拿下了全美专辑榜冠军，这已是这三只乡村小野猫加盟SONY以来的第三张冠军专辑了。 
　　 
    这场面一定让美国乡村音乐圈的许多人感到很不爽，当然，更不爽的还有一个人，那就是美国总统小布什。自从2003年主唱Natalie Maines说出：“Just so you know, we’re ashamed the President of the United States is from Texas.我们为和美国总统来自德克萨斯同一个州而感到羞愧”之后，Dixie Chicks便在音乐圈大受排挤，尤其是保守的乡村音乐圈人士更是恨不得扒了她们家祖坟。三年过去了，Dixie Chicks的政治主张已为越来越多的美国人所接受，而当年三人在『Entertainment Weekly』上的惊天一脱，也被视为颇有60年代嬉皮士“Make love,not war”遗风的壮举，今天的Dixie Chicks俨然已是美国音乐界的反战斗士、新时代乡村妇女的杰出代表、德州三八红旗手的不二人选。

    可惜乡村音乐界却未必都这么认为，不过Dixie Chicks看起来已经铁了心我行我素不跟这帮死硬分子妥协了，于是，在这张专辑里，我们可以发现，Country虽然还是Dixie Chicks的主基调，但是却明显和POP、Rock越走越近了，“Not Ready to Make Nice”、“Baby Hold on”、“So Hard”等单曲都非常鲜明地传达了这种转变，特别是主打歌“Not Ready to Make Nice”更是宣言式的作品：

    第49届格莱美音乐奖颁奖盛典于北京时间07年2月12日上午7时在美国洛杉矶斯台普中心开演。
　
    因为发表反战言论，过去一年风波不断的乡村乐组合“南方小鸡”拿下了五项大奖，并且在有“四大”之称的四个格莱美最重要奖项中占据了三席。

    对“南方小鸡”而言，格莱美的“礼遇”与乡村乐坛的“冷眼”形成了鲜明的对比。去年11月，在美国乐联合会颁奖典礼上，“南方小鸡”被拒之门外。而在格莱美奖上的大胜却对此予以了漂亮的还击。
