[2006-7-27]欣赏:蓝草音乐组合-Nickel Creek 随性纯朴质感悠然的歌声

Nickel Creek，成立于1989年的一个乐队。吉他手 Sean Watkins，小提琴手 Sara Watkins 兄妹与曼陀林乐手Chris Thile 在草根音乐的纯朴中，注入古典乐的细腻质感，手中的乐器便是心情的随性涂抹，在午夜，低旋，盈溢…… Nickel Creek以原音吉它唱作重新拾起民谣音乐怡然、恬静的风情，传媒纷纷为Nickel Creek乐团挂上『蓝草音乐的复古主义家』、『听觉革新者』、『蓝草音乐青春世代』的称号。

吉他手Sean Watkins和他的妹妹Sara Watkins以及班卓琴/曼陀铃/布祖基琴演奏者Chris Thile三人在儿童时代就在老家圣地亚哥组成了Nickel Creek组合。在观看老牌蓝草组合Bluegrass Etc.的时候他们相遇了，一个年轻的蓝草组合诞生了。Chris Thile的父亲Scott担任乐队的贝司手。90年代他们活跃于蓝草圈子中，其间Chris Thile录制了两张个人专辑（Leading off…和Stealing second）。1998年借助Alison Krauss 的帮助，他们在Sugar Hill唱片公司签了和约。Alison Krauss制作了他们的首张同名专辑，虽然专辑被定位为蓝草风格，但是音乐中包含了古典，爵士，摇滚以及另类的元素。借助原声带O Brother, Where Art Thou?在格莱梅的成功，蓝草音乐重新复苏。在2002年早期，专辑卖出50万成为金唱片，也得到了格莱梅奖的提名。其间，Sean发行了自己第一张专辑Let It Fall，Chris Thile也发行了第三张唱片Not All Who Wander Are Lost.

蓝草音乐:: 20世纪40年代，在肯塔基州的山区出现了乡村音乐的另一个分支，叫蓝草音乐（Bluegrass Music）。它在乡村音乐的基础上，吸收了当地古老的玉米脱粒晚会上的班卓音乐和提琴音乐，以及南部山区的叙事歌曲等因素发展而成。

蓝草音乐的演唱一般都是多声部的，除主旋律声部外，往往还在上方用假声叠置一个和声声部，有时还在主旋律下方加上一两个低音声部。它的伴奏乐器以班卓琴和提琴而独具特色，有时还采用曼陀林、低音提琴等民间乐器，传统乡村音乐没有架子鼓的特点也在蓝草音乐中得到了保留。蓝草音乐的速度一般都比较快，每分钟160-330拍左右。

蓝草音乐在发展过程中受到爵士乐的影响，常在器乐段落中出现比较华丽的即兴独奏。70年代，当其他乡村音乐普遍采用电声乐器时，他们仍采用传统乐器演奏。著名的蓝草音乐家和乐队有：比尔·蒙鲁（Bill Monroe，1911～ ）领导的"蓝草男孩"（Bluegrass Boys）乐队、奥斯本兄弟（Osborne Brothers）、"约翰逊山脉男孩"（The Johnson Mountain Boys）、"纳什维尔蓝草乐队"（The Nashville Bluegrass Band）等。
