奥里诺科河

　 南美洲重要河流。发源于委内瑞拉与巴西交界的帕里马山脉德尔加多查尔包德山西坡。呈弧形绕行于圭亚那高原西、北部边缘，最后向东注入大西洋。全长2060千米，流域面积88万平方千米，其中64万平方千米在委内瑞拉境内，其余在哥伦比亚境内。

　 上游（圣费尔南多以上）呈东南-西北流向，水流湍急，沿途接纳众多支流，主要有本图阿里河、瓜维亚雷河等。中游（圣费尔南多-阿亚库乔港）主流在圣费尔南多折向北行，形成长达420千米的哥伦比亚与委内瑞拉的界河，主要支流有比查达河和托莫河等。下游（阿亚库乔港以下）自帕埃斯港起折向东北，流经奥里诺科平原，地势低平，河面展宽，主要支流有梅塔河、阿普雷河和卡罗尼河。

　 奥里诺科河流域年降水量在1400毫米以上，河口平均流量达1.4万立方米／秒。4～10月为汛期，玻利瓦尔城站最大流量3万立方米／秒；11月至翌年3月为枯水期，流量减至8000立方米／秒。
　 全河通航里程1000千米以上，海轮可上溯至玻利瓦尔城，河轮可通至阿亚库乔港。流域内富有石油、铁、铝土等矿藏。

　　１９９６年１１月，中国和委内瑞拉两国政府签订《关于共同开展石油领域合作的协定》，揭开了奥里乳化油引进中国应用的序幕。随着两国在石油领域的合作进一步深入，２００１年４月份，**** 主席访问委内瑞拉期间，中国石油与委内瑞拉国家石油公司签订了《关于合作开发奥里乳化油区块的协议书》，同年１２月，由中国石油天然气集团公司与委内瑞拉国家石油公司共同出资，总投资３６亿美元的中委奥里乳化油公司在委内瑞拉正式注册成立。到２００４年，该公司每年生产的６５０万吨奥里乳化油将由中油燃料油股份有限公司负责销往国内市场。
