1963 年 2 月 19 日生于英国伦敦。 seal 出生于一个由尼日利亚人和巴西
人组成的家庭。 1978 年在中学组建了他的第 1 个乐队 stay brave.
在获得建筑学学位后，他曾经作过电子工程师和皮革服装设计师，不久开始
在地方俱乐部和酒吧里演唱。他加入过一个叫"push"的英国疯克乐队，80
年代中期在日本巡演。此后一度独自旅游亚洲，并加入过一个以泰国人为主
的布鲁斯乐队.


1994年他的第二张专辑继续以“Seal”命名，称作《Seal(1994)》。这是
Seal最为成功的专辑，其中的单曲《Kiss From a Rose》不仅入选了电影
《永远的蝙蝠侠(Batman Forever)》的原声大碟，更重要的是为他在1995
年度第38届格莱美奖中赢得了年度最佳唱片(Record Of The Year)，年度
最佳歌曲(Song Of The Year)，最佳流行男歌手(Best Male Pop Vocal
Performance)三尊分量十足的奖杯。这也是目前为止，Seal在格来美奖
评选中仅有的斩获。而这张专辑也一直是热销的多白金专辑。1998年，
Seal又发行了自己的第三张专辑这次他把专辑名字改了，叫做《Human Being》，
同样这张专辑也卖出了400多万张.这里要欣赏的就是他的获奖作品单曲--
