1993年66歲的低音薩克斯風巨匠傑瑞.莫里根屹立於爵士樂壇已有四十餘年，他也一直是樂迷心目中最佳的低音薩克斯風人選；早年曾參與CoolJazz運動與MilesDavis共同錄製了CoolJazz的經典之作毢irthofTheCool之後移居洛杉磯並與小號手ChetBaker等人建立了西岸風格的爵士樂。《巴西天堂》是莫里根首次嚐試以拉丁美洲樂風(BossaNova)為素材的作品，並邀請出生於巴西北部的年輕才女歌者珍.杜巴克擔任葡萄牙語的歌唱部份。所有曲目皆由莫里根親自編曲、演出，整張專輯充滿著自在活潑的節奏，輕鬆、宜人，真是一張陽光沙灘之作。

Review:
Although baritonist Gerry Mulligan is listed as the leader of thisdate, vocalist Jane Duboc is really the main star. TheBrazilian-oriented set consists of eight Mulligan originals (including"Tema Pra Jobim," which finds him switching to piano, and "WillowTree") and three other numbers, with "Wave" being the only standard.Duboc sings well, although her voice never sticks in one's mind, andMulligan has short solos and mostly sticks to the background; they arejoined by a couple of Brazilian rhythm sections. Pleasant music thatmostly stands out as a historical curiosity in Gerry Mulligan'sdiscography.
