一首60年代的歌，唯美的旋律令人难忘，甚至那天所有的一切都历历在目。后来读懂了歌词，原来美妙音符之下却叙写着生离死别的伤感和作者面对人生和死亡的坦然。正是由于优美的曲风和感人的陈述，曾经被70次翻唱，并于70年代作为了柯达广告曲。
    作者是法国的歌手Jacques Brel，原名叫 Le Moribond（将死的人），发表于1961年。当时Jacquez Brel发觉自己罹患癌症，于是写下这首伤感的歌曲，在与病症搏斗了十几年之后，他终在1978年病逝，死时四十九岁。与Brel私交不错的美国诗人歌手Rod Mckuen,很早就把这首歌译成了英文，并且在1964年由民歌界元老的Kinston Trio率先灌录成唱片，不过当时并没有造成太大的轰动。跟Rod Mckuen颇有交情的Terry Jacks当时在作为那时的明星乐队Beach Boy的吉他伴奏时，有一次，在录音的时候，他建议Beach Boys灌录「Seasons in the Sun」这首歌。不过，录完之后，可能是由于效果不如理想，Beach Boys决定不发行。而极为喜爱这首歌的Terry则为了追悼一位意外过世的好友，决定自己来灌唱。Terry取得作者的同意，把最后一段歌词稍加修改，同时以轻快的节奏处理，使歌曲显得轻松一些，可是完工之后，在架子上一摆就是一年。有一天，他把带子放出来听，正好一位年轻人送报纸来到他家，听到了这首歌，于是要求是否可以带自己的朋友过来欣赏。年轻人的反应，使Terry决定自己发行这首歌曲。这首歌于1974年3月2日开始在全美排行榜的冠军位置停留了3周，唱片成为金唱片，销量达到六百多万张，当时可谓是家喻户晓。
