Don Henley和Glenn Frey等人在1971年時成立了THE EAGLES (老鷹合唱團)，他們融合了搖滾、鄉村、民謠和流行樂，創造出屬於THE EAGLES的獨特風格。該團最受歡迎的專輯hotel california讓他們名利雙收，後來Don Henley於80年代起便單飛展開了個人演藝生涯，成績也一樣的出色。他在84年時以the boys of summer贏得葛來美最佳搖滾男歌手獎

Don Henley
　　1947年7月22日出生於德州。老鷹合唱團發表的歌曲多有Glenn Frey和Don Henley參與的創作，Frey多半以朗朗上口唯美情歌為主，Henley就有較多的觸角，不過「追求」卻是他歌曲的中心，不論是理想或是愛情，在追求過程中的種種心境與體會都是Henley寫歌的題材。樂團正式解散前、甚至還未推出個人專輯Henley就先跑去與Stevie Nicks對唱 “Leather And Lace”。Henley 共發行四張個人專輯與一張精選。“Dirty Laundry”選自1982年首張專輯「I Can’t Stand Still」，是個人作品中名次最高的單曲。兩年後以「Building The Perfect Beast」裡的 “The Boys Of Summer”一曲得到1985年度葛萊美獎最佳搖滾男歌手。1989年「The End Of The Innocence」的商業成績最佳，總共銷售六白金。間隔十年推出的「Inside Job」包含了四週抒情冠軍曲 “Taking You Home”。這些記錄都顯示出無論商業或評價上Don Henley都是個人演唱事業最成功樂團成員。
