Le Barbier De Seville DG 449 390-2 话说某日我到HMV逛,在可供试听的样品架上看到这张碟,虽说我手头上至少有三套单碟价售卖的“理发师”,但看看演出名单,嘿,全部都是意大利的不知名歌手,乐队也不认识,指挥Bruno Bartoletti倒有听过,印象不错。既可免费试听,何乐而不为!我马上戴上耳机,选了很熟悉的“Una voce poco fa gianna d’”,Angelo有如出谷黄莺般的歌艺,把我震呆了。天哪!这么了不起的歌艺竟默默无闻,无人知晓,天理何在?!我马上拿了一片新CD冲往柜台付账。 回家后的第一时间开了金牛后级,再次聆赏Aneglo的歌艺,乐队引手一响起,唉呀!我几乎跳了起来!好宽大的音场啊!太大了,根本不像在小录音室里录的,活像以前我在维多利亚音乐厅ROWF听黄河大合唱的壮大场面嘛! 虽说Rossini的“理发师”不具深度,但聆赏Angelo的歌艺,真是令人心花怒放,太了不起了!一曲结束,即刻跳到另一首我的Favorit“Largo at factotim de lacit”,哗!扮演Figaro(理发师)的Renato Capecchi一样出色。 有了Rossini的“理发师”,我过去的几套“理发师”都可请他们告老还乡去也。这个录音非常具有1960年代最出色的老Decca录音的特色与特点,空间感出色不在话下,加上这群不知名的艺人极超级的演出,不动容者几稀! 不料把它带到友人家里一试,心却凉了一大截。在不太完美的重播条件下,Angelo的歌声不再像夜莺,而像母夜叉吵死人。 我这才蓦然惊觉,此碟也属不讨好之列,它录于1961年,距今已超过35年!这么出色的好录音、好演出不受世人重视,只因一般较俗气的Hi-Fi器材不争气使然?! 大人!冤枉啊!(转载)

He studied the violin and then, after the war, went on to study singing. He made his debut in Aida at the Teatro Comunale in Reggio Emilia in 1949, and in the following year appeared at the Maggio Musicale Festival in Florence in Elisir d’Amore and made his first appearance at La Scala for the première of Malipiero’s L’allegra brigata.
This marked the beginning of a career which saw him sing in the world’s major opera houses, notably at the Metropolitan where he was outstanding in Lucia di Lammermoor, La Traviata and Carmen, between 1951 and 1954.
With his fine stage presence and particularly clear diction, he tackled the entire repertoire, though he showed a preference for comic bass roles in eighteenth-century Italian operas.
He has left us several very interesting recordings, including productions of Un giorno di regno and La forza del destino by Verdi, Donizetti’s Don Pasquale, Leoncavallo’s I Pagliacci, Paisiello’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Rossini’s Cenerentola.
