“威猛”乐队 WHAM

威猛乐队由两位高中时代的好友组成，
他们是乔治·迈克尔（George Michael）和
安德鲁·维治利（Andrew Ridgeley）。 在
读高中时，他们便热衷于音乐。高中毕业后，
他们失业在家，但这也使得他们能更加致力
于歌曲的创作。1982年，他们写了一首描述
英国青年人中失业状况的歌曲《威猛轻敲》
（《Wham Rap》），并以此获得了唱片公司
的合约和公众的注意。不久，威猛的名字就
开始出现在英美两地的流行歌曲排行榜上，
他们的首张专辑《异想天开》(《Fantastic
》）一经推出，很快就在英国的排行榜上名
列第一，并连续两周位居榜首。
1984年“威猛”乐队推出了它的第二张
唱片《使其出名》(《Make it Big》）。唱
片推出后大获欢迎，其中的《无心快语》（
《Careless Whisper》）等多首歌曲还在美
国获得白金唱片销量。该专辑连续18个星期
进入排行榜前10名，并有了三个星期是位居
榜首。“威猛”乐队以其高娱乐性的流行音
乐风格征服了无数听众。乔治·迈克尔担任
了大部分的创作、演唱和演出安排的工作，
而安德鲁除了演奏之外，更以其俊美的外形
成了乐队的象征。一夜之间，全世界诞生了
无数个“威猛”的歌迷，“威猛”成了青少
年们的偶像。
1984年和1985年两年是“威猛”乐队的
鼎盛时期。1985年4月， 威猛更是作为第一
支西方摇滚乐队访问了中国。然而随着时间
的推移，乔治和安德鲁之间还是产生了矛盾。
1986年6月，“威猛” 乐队在英国的温布里
体育场举行了盛大的告别演唱会，并发行了
其最后一场专辑《来自天堂边缘的音乐》（
《Music From the Edge of Heaven》)。红
极一时的“威猛”乐队从此解散。但主唱乔
治·迈克尔的音乐生涯并未就此结束。单飞
之后，乔治·迈克尔仍然取得了巨大的成就。
如今他是世界上最为著名的歌手之一。
