拉美西斯二世神殿

阿布辛贝至费丽的努比亚遗址

从埃及最南之城──亚斯文的尼罗河畔到苏丹的喀土木地区，存有埃及努比亚建筑的许多遗迹，过去这里曾属于库斯王国。努比亚拥有自己独特的文化、建筑、语言，即使至今，努比亚人仍坚守自己的传统。想一窥努比亚地区自史前时代起，长达4千5百年的文化演进，可前往座落亚斯文的努比亚博物馆（Nubian Museum）。不过光是在亚斯文市区漫游，就足以感受他们的生活样貌。

在古埃及众多法老王中，以拉美西斯二世（Ramesses II）最为著名，他统治埃及长达60多年，所兴建的神殿遍布埃及各地。当中以建于公元前 1290 ~ 1224 年的阿布辛贝神殿（Abu Simbel），又称拉美西斯二世神殿最受世人瞩目。旁边一座较小而精致的纳菲塔莉神殿（Nefertari）则是拉美西斯二世为爱妻所建的神庙。这两座神殿分别展现了拉美西斯二世傲视一切的君王气魄与爱妻情切的极致表现。





拉美西斯二世神殿

来到阿布辛贝，神殿外四尊高20米的拉美西斯二世坐姿巨像迎面而来，这些六层楼高的石像，统统都是由山壁直接雕凿出来。整座神殿深达60余公尺，神殿最深处供奉了四位古埃及神──太阳神、拉美西斯二世（他视自己为神）、阿蒙神及黑暗之神。每年2月20日（拉美西斯生辰）及10月20日（拉美西斯登基日），曙光都会穿过六十米长的外殿，直射到内殿的神像身上，但光线只会照射三位神像，最左边的黑暗之神，就不会被阳光照射到。3千多年前就能够掌握如此精确的天文学，令人动容。

神庙大殿两旁也列着一排代表拉美西斯二世儿子的高大人像及描绘自己战绩之壁画。拉美西斯二世为什么要在人烟罕至的阿布辛贝雕凿一座如此雄伟的神庙？除了其爱妻纳菲塔莉是努比亚人之外，最普遍的说法是：古努比亚人沿尼罗河前往埃及进贡，或埃及军队前往努比亚征税时，船队均会行经此处，而阿布辛贝神殿就是宣示国威的最佳象征。




拉美西斯二世神殿

纳菲塔莉神殿被埃及人称之为最贵重的情人礼物。拉美西斯有8位妃子，一共生了约120个子女。身为法老王当然是妻妾成群，但奇就奇在拉美西斯二世只为王后建神殿，埃及历史上从没有法老王为妻子建神殿，拉美西斯此举可说是前无古人、后无来者，即便是现代埃及人，也觉得匪夷所思，更认为拉美西斯爱王后，胜过王后爱他。

同样凿山而建的纳菲塔莉神殿工程浩大，神殿正面有6个10米高的巨像，代表了拉美西斯、纳菲塔莉和爱神（Hathor），所以又称爱神之殿。殿内柱梁雕上王后的容貌，墙壁刻有法老王和王后的生活片段。纳菲塔莉名字中的Nefer，在埃及文中有“最美丽女人”之意，可惜美艳动人的王后在神殿建成之前，就已因病去世，似乎少了承受这份重礼之福。




拉美西斯二世神殿

现今所见的两座神殿均已非原址，在1960年代，埃及政府为了解决尼罗河每逢夏天都会泛滥的问题，决定兴建亚斯文水坝。不过此举却将令水位上升，淹没努比亚一带的神殿，所幸，联合国教科文组织发起了国际救援运动，花了将近20年(1960~1980)时间，将阿布辛贝神殿和纳菲泰莉神殿，以岩石切割方式上移 200公尺重建，才使遗迹免遭淹没。但也因为无法如古埃及人般确切掌握天文，前述提及的阳光照入石室的时间，现在已经延迟了一天。

著名的亚斯文水坝，在1971年完成了高111公尺、长约3公里的新坝，使得集水区水位上升70公尺，成为湖面平均宽10公里、长560公里的纳塞湖（Lake Nasser）。

阿布辛贝至费丽的努比亚遗址于1979年入选文化类世界遗产。
